Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 31, 2025

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how WhoIP.info ("we", "our", "the service") handles and protects data related to the use of the website. We strive to be transparent and to comply with applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, etc.). By using the site, you agree to this Policy.
2. Client-side generation of technical data (important)
Short summary: whoip.info does not collect or store the technical data displayed to users. All technical metrics (IP address, browser details, WebRTC data, etc.) are generated and processed on the client side by JavaScript and shown only in your browser.
2.1. Explanation
When you visit the site, scripts running in your browser compute technical information (e.g., how your connection appears, browser parameters, supported features, WebRTC addresses, etc.).
These data are used only in real time to display results and to compute local scores in the user interface.
We do not record, log, or store these technical parameters in databases, server logs, or any persistent storage.
If you use optional export/public features (for example, "Create public shareable score"), we store only an anonymized score that is not linked to IP addresses, timestamps, user identifiers, or other unique data — unless explicitly stated in the UI.
3. What we do not collect
We do not request or retain personal data such as name, address, email (except when explicitly provided via contact/feedback forms), phone number, payment details, etc. By default, technical parameters shown on the page are not stored by the server.
4. Cookies and local storage
The site may use cookies or localStorage only to store user preferences (language, theme). These do not contain personal information and are used to improve user experience.
5. How data is used
Because whoip.info does not store the technical parameters described above, those data are used only for immediate client-side display and local logic (for example, computing local anonymity scores).
If you use an export/publish feature, only what you explicitly consent to store/publish (e.g. numeric score and general labels without personal identifiers) will be saved.
6. Security
We use standard technical measures to protect the website: HTTPS, hardened server configuration, etc. Since personal data are not stored by default, the risk of compromise of such data is minimized.
7. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell or share data with third parties. Disclosure may occur only when required by law. Where third-party services are used (CDN, GeoIP providers, etc.), we minimize transferred data and use reputable providers.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, rectify, erase (to the extent data are stored), restrict processing, withdraw consent, and lodge a complaint. To exercise those rights contact: [email protected].
9. Cross-border transfers
The site may use infrastructure in multiple jurisdictions (CDNs). We endeavor to ensure equivalent protection for such transfers. Because personal data are not stored by default, transfers of sensitive content are limited.
10. Links to external sites
The site may link to external resources. We do not control their privacy practices and are not responsible for their content.
11. Policy updates
We may update this Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of the document will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance.
12. Contact
